Comparison
Scheduling tool, or operating platform?
They solve different problems and the difference is easy to state: a scheduling tool finishes when the rota is published. If that is all you need, buy one — they are cheaper and they are good at it.
The short version
Buy a scheduling tool if…
- You run 1–3 locations
- Your main pain is rota-building time and shift swaps
- Your accountant already gives you the numbers you need
- You have no cross-store comparison problem
Buy Nexora if…
- You run 3–3,000 locations
- You cannot state last week's prime cost without asking someone
- You suspect one store is losing money and cannot prove which
- Your GMs need their own numbers without seeing the group's

full · partial · not offered. Scheduling-tool column reflects the category's common feature set, not any single named product. No competitor is named here on purpose: a category column can be described fairly from public documentation, whereas a branded claim goes stale the week the other product ships a release. Where we do name a product, the claim is checked against that vendor's own current documentation and dated on the page.
Shift swapping, availability collection, time-off workflow and staff messaging are more mature in dedicated scheduling products, and two of those are still marked coming soon in Nexora. If day-to-day shift administration is your bottleneck rather than cost visibility, that is a real reason to choose one.
The question that decides it
Can you tell me which of your locations had the best prime cost last week?
If the answer is yes, your reporting is working and a scheduling tool will serve you well. If the answer is "I would have to ask someone" or "at month end", the rota is not your problem — the gap between the shift and the number is.
That gap is what Nexora closes. The scheduler is how we price the labour going in; the reconciliation is how we prove what actually happened.
Can we run both?
For a month, yes, and we recommend it. Keep your scheduling tool, run Nexora alongside, and compare the labour numbers at the end of the period. Switch when ours reconcile against your POS and the existing ones do not — and if they both reconcile, you have learned something useful and lost a month's subscription.
Twenty minutes, your worst store
If it turns out a scheduling tool is the right answer for you, we will say so.
